Walk with dolly

I worked from home yesterday.  I got done shortly after 5pm, and I hadn't spent any time with Tatiana.  It was a beautiful day out.  So, I asked Tatiana if she wanted to go on a walk.  She didn't say anything, but she started to walk happily to the door.  I told her I had to get some shoes on.  She went to get her red wagon.  She also got her dolly.  It took us a little while to get out the door, because Yogi was convinced she was going on the walk.  Tatiana put her dolly in the wagon, and carried her wagon in her right hand, and held onto my hand with her left.  It was so wonderful!  After awhile I noticed that she kept looking back at her dolly.  I could not figure why she was so concerned.  Then I realized.  Last time we walked, I carried the wagon until near the end, when she wanted to be picked up.  Then I put her in the red wagon.  I didn't want to dump her on the sidewalk, so I spent more time looking back at her than I did looking forward.  So, this walk, she was the mommy and was taking care of her baby.  This was also the first walk where she walked the entire way around the block.

Her outfit was extra cute.  She was wearing the blue check sundress with strawberry pockets.  Underneath she had a white onesie with little watermelons on it.  She had on red socks and her black shoes. 

Gram & Grandpa's visit

Gram & Grandpa went to visit Tatiana today.
She anxiously waited by front door for us to come. We had a great visit.
Of course = she led us outside to play. She truly loves her swing.
Also she delights on picking out her own books for us to read to her.
Another toy that she enjoyed playing with was wood set that you hammered balls into.
She is growing so fast!

Feb 21st

Scotland went to do work, and Judith came over to watch Tatiana.  She wanted to take Tatiana to the Yoga class.  Judith said that midway through the Yoga class Tatiana went to get the diaper bag and brought it back to Judith.  She was ready to leave.  I love that Tatiana is so subtle!  Then about 2pm, Judith was tired and Tatiana was almost asleep so she put Tatiana in her crib.  Yogi got out because Judith left the front door open and didn't lock the screen door.  Judith didn't have trouble getting Yogi back, but Tatiana woke up.  Judith laid down on the bed in there, and they both napped.  Later, Tatiana brought the Potty out and put a doll on it, and "read" the doll a book.  I wish I could have seen that. 
Tatiana and I had a good evening.  She played and sometimes sat in my lap.  She loves that toy where you hammer on the balls and they go down a ramp.  She is good about putting the balls back on top when she is done.  Late in the evening, I was petting Yogi and I got a big handful of fur.  I was worried until I realized it had just gotten warm and Yogi was blowing her coat.  Scotland was home by then, so the plan was for Scotland to be with Tatiana and I would brush Yogi out back.  Yogi seemed to enjoy it.  Tatiana came out back to investigate, and she tried to help by petting Yogi's other side.  I got big huge clumps of fur out.  It was a nice time with the three of us.  I think Yogi lost 5 pounds worth of fur. 

rude noise making mommy laugh

Last night, we were in the living room.  Scotland was eating and I was on the couch with Tatiana in my lap reading.  She had her "Big Red Book" and she was flipping through the pages.  She is so serious when she does that!  It is adorable!  I also love it when she plays or reads in my lap.  On the TV, a sargeant told a private to replace someone on guard duty.  He complained, "Why do I have to do it?"  She said, "Because I said so".  Scotland said the sargeant should have replied ... then he made this dismissive, slightly rude noise.  Then, Tatiana made the exact same noise!  It was so adorable and funny.  I started to laugh.  So, she did it again.  I laughed some more, and she did it again.  Repeat.  Eventually I was laughing so hard my tummy hurt.  I would just get the laughing under control, and she then she would look at me with that happy smile and make the noise.  It was wonderful.  She really enjoyed being able to make her mommy laugh. 

This weekend

Saturday during the wee hours, Tatiana woke up scared. It was really storming out. She either doesn't like the rain, or Scotland thought the tree might be rubbing the house. I got up with her at 2:30am. She just wanted a little milk and a lot of cuddling. She woke up about an hour later and I poked Scotland to get her.
She slept late Saturday morning. I had time to make breakfast, and putz around the house. I was more than ready for her to awake. She woke up dry. I put her on her potty and read her what has become the potty book. When the book was done, I was amazed at the amount of pee in there. I fed her and then we had lots of fun playing. She got cranky and Scotland came out to take over. That evening we went to Amber and Eric's. We left both kids with a babysitter and went to Jorg's. We had a fun evening. We talked for a long time. When we got back the babysitter thought she was upset because she kept making this "little crying sound". Tatiana did it again while we were holding her and the babysitter said, "That is what she was doing". It was Tatiana's meow. They have cats so Tatiana was doing a lot of meowing.
Sunday was a good day too. After her nap, Tatiana went into the backyard. She sat in her swing, but there was a little puddle. I changed her diaper and dried it, but she didn't want to swing. Instead, she sat in my lap while I was in the big people swing. We sat there for a really long time.
One thing that amazes me is how much she loved that toy we got her for Christmas where you hammer the balls and they drop down the ramps in the middle. At Christmas, it was too old for her. Now it is just right.

Tatiana cuteness times two

I discovered a way to double Tatiana's cuteness when we are in public.  I know!  Totally unbelievable that her cuteness could double, but it is true!  We went to the mall and I thought she might want a doll to carry, so I took the Raggedy Ann.  Her walking down the mall hallway carrying her Raggedy Ann made every last person smile at her and coo "Ohhhhhh". 

Last night when I was holding her, she asked to go potty.  She was already in her PJ's.  That is hard to get the PJ's, diaper cover and diaper off when you are in a hurry.  Then she sat there and we read a book.  Nothing happened.  Then I thought maybe if I "demonstrated", then she did pee.  I think she was so enthralled with the book that she forgot the reason we were in the restroom.

Last night Tatiana was with Scotland in the mancave pre-sleep. She started to make the raspberry noise. Scotland asked if she needed to go to the potty. She said "ah huh". So, they went to the bathroom and she sat on the potty and peed. He asked if she was done, she said "Nah Huh". So sat there a little longer and she pooped! Scotland called me to come see. He yelled a little too loud and scared her. I came running limping as fast as I could, my foot was asleep. I held her and kissed her and cleaned her up.

One thing about Tatiana, she doesn't want to go to sleep until she has pooped. I can understand that.

Valentine's Day

Last night, Tatiana and I went to the playground in the mall.  She is such a happy baby.  She seems to be getting a litle bored by the equipment there.  I can't say I blame her.  We came home and were in the living room.  I was sitting on the step and Scotland was on the couch.  Scotland said, "Mommy wants a kiss.  Go give her a kiss."  Tatiana was pretty close to Scotland already, and she went to him and gave him a kiss on the lips!  Then she walked to me and she gave me a kiss on the lips.  I wasn't expecting it on the lips, but she was quite insistent.  It was so wonderful. 
She has started to walk to the crib when Scotland says it is time for bed.  Sometimes he can put her in, and she falls asleep.  Sometimes not. 

Tatiana Plays with dolls more

One thing I really notice about Tatiana is how much she understands of what you tell her.  She has also been playing with dolls a lot lately.  Not just hugging them or carrying them around.  But playing with them and doing things for them.  Minnie Mouse sat in the outside swing with Tatiana pushed her.  Minnie kept falling out so I helped by buckling her in.  Tatiana doesn't understand that you can push and release.  She holds on and moves the swing in a small arc.  Minnie seemed to enjoy it.  They frequently get a bottle and get covered with a blanket

Yeah, No Football

Last night, I was finishing getting her PJ's on so she was standing up on the diaper table leaning on me while I was snapping her.  She had on the adorable Christmas PJ's that snap in the back.  Scotland walked by with his shoulders slumped and head down and said "no more football."  I said in a very happy voice, "No More Football, Yeah!"  Then Tatiana said "Yeah" and raised both her arms in the air.  Her "Yeah" was very clear too.  She knew something was being cheered.  I laughed and as took her into the hallway where Scotland could see her she did it again.  When I got there I said, "Look what she just did" and then I said "Yeah".  She just sat there and smiled at her Daddy.  When we were out of sight again, she did one more full arm raise, and two one-arm-raised-halfway Yeah's.  Even if Scotland couldn't see it, he heard us clearly since we were in the nursery with had a baby monitor. 

Tatiana and Yoga

Tatiana had her third Yoga class yesterday.  He said she seems to really enjoy it.  She already knows what comes next.  So, when they are done with one pose, she will get ready for the next.  I am going to have Scotland do the routine with her in the living room for me so I can get it on video.  The other day they spontaneously showed me a couple of the poses and she had that adorable smile that she gets.
