Mother's Day weekend
I don't remember where we got these shoes. They are Converse shoes that someone painted with pink sparkly paint. They didn't have shoelaces. When we went to Greenville to watch the dance recital, we stopped at a Walmart on the way home. Tatiana had wanted some pink sparkly shoelaces. But, then we saw these. They are silicon strips that go across. We think that they are adorable, so I took a photo.
Saturday we went to another dance studio's recital. Tatiana had wanted to watch one. This one actually charged money for tickets, but I had promised. It was also worth the money to see one at the same location as hers. She enjoyed it at first, but then was bored. I think part of it was that we didn't know anyone performing. Also, since all the dancers had their hair slicked back, they all looked alike. It was almost as if it was the same performers.
After the recital we went to Walmart to buy the shoe laces. We bought some Blue Bell too. Then we came home and had a relaxing day. She has been cleaning her room and closet. She also went through her shoes are sorted them into too small and too big, and the rest she put on her shelves. We played our latest game Cytosis. She beat me again.
Sunday I woke up at my normal time convinced it was Monday. I was very unhappy that I had to wake up. I think I thought it was Monday was because Saturday was a weekend's worth of relaxation. Neither Scotland nor Tatiana wanted to wake up, so I let them sleep.
Scotland went to the Plano house early so that he could paint the outside of the house while the sun was in a good place, and while it wasn't raining. Tatiana and I did work and then took breaks and played games. It was nice. In the evening, I called Gram. It was a nice call. Tatiana talked like such a grown-up. Tatiana was shocked that it was Mother's Day. She'd had it in her mind that it was Monday and that I was staying home. She'd wanted to make me breakfast. She had an idea of making it Sunday night and then putting it in the microwave to keep it safe. She was distressed when I told her that wouldn't work. I told her that she could do that next weekend.
She has been practicing with the jump rope. She showed me how she was doing and she did so many without stopping that I lost count.

Thursday
This is this morning, Friday, as I dropped them off at the Parker Road Station. I just thought that her outfit looked so adorable.
Yesterday was an ordinary day at home. They had planned on going to Richardson to the Oklahoma Land Rush re-enactment, but Scotland didn't feel like leaving home. She did lots of cleaning on her room. She had been overwhelmed with the amount of cleaning needed. So, Scotland came up with a great idea. He dumped a bunch of her stuff in boxes. Then told her to put the stuff away a box at a time. Then after X amount of boxes, she got a break/reward. The change in her room was amazing.
Tuesday, she had dug out the cardboard box of games that I'd ordered awhile back. When they arrived a few months back, she was in the doghouse and I'd stored the games away and forgot about them. Fortunately, I'd put the cardboard box where the games go and Tatiana had found it. On Tuesday, I told her to pick out the first game we'd play and I'd read the rules. Wednesday I read the rules and set it up. Then they got home too late. So, we played Cytosis last night. It was lots of fun. At one point Tatiana said, "This is a very pretty game."

Monday - playdate
She had a great day yesterday. Kristen came over and they had a TON of fun playing with the barbies and barbie houses. Kristen had brought over some of her barbie stuff. They were having such fun that us moms didn't notice that it was getting late. Then Tatiana showed her goats to them.
Then it all fell apart when she couldn't find her mouth thing. She was whining. I was exhausted from a sinus infection and had collapsed in bed. Scotland helped her look. They didn't find it.

Saturday - Dance and Piano and Breakfast
This photo is the first breakfast she made me. It was totally her idea. Saturday morning I woke her up so that we could go to the old folks home dance performance. There was whimpering because she'd stayed up late the night before. But, then she was fine. And adorable.
Then we went home and ate really quickly and had a short rest then went to her formal piano recital. Once again, she was adorable. Scotland thought that she'd never played the song better.
After that I was mentally pooped, and wanted to lay down and read. She asked me if I was hungry. I wasn't then. She said to tell her when I was hungry. When I did she said that she needed to know how hungry I was. So, "If she were making eggs, how many eggs would I want. But, it might not be eggs." Then this is what she brought me. It was wonderful.
This is how her bed was Sunday morning when I went in to get my phone. I loved all the books scattered around. The flash didn't work because the phone battery was very low.

Friday - 4H Duds to Dazzle competition
Friday night Tatiana went to the 4H District Duds-to-Dazzle competition. The first photo is them waiting for it to start. The second photo is what they made. I thought it was adorable. They got second. I didn't see what the kids that got first made, but it must have been awesome.

Scarborough Faire - School Days
Tuesday was Scarborough Faire School Days. We had stayed the night in Arlington to make the drive shorter. We rushed in and submitted her portfolio because it had a deadline of 10am. Then she did the interview. Then it was time for fun. This was foam sword fighting. They were sooo cute. I think I got about 100 photos.
This was a competition that they both did. Tatiana didn't make it far. But, the skirt didn't help.
This had been her getting her second place award. Until the Senior First Place, she had been by far the crowd favorite. The High School girl did have an amazing outfit.
Tatiana had really wanted to play 'Giant Chess". She was playing against the older boy with the black pants at the lower left of the photo. Her daddy helped a bit. She ended up winning. At one point, they were both down to just a few pieces. He had a little bit of an advantage. Then Scotland reminded her that the pawns could become Queens if they made it to the other end. One pawn was sacrificed to make the other a Queen. Then it was just a matter of time. They finished the game as they were kicking us out. Us parents had helped to put the pieces into the nearby game store.
