August 19th
Yesterday Scotland and Tatiana tried to go to the Zoo. But, they hadn't realized it was "Dollar Day". They didn't even go in. They had to let two trains go by, before a train was empty enough to let them get off to come home. They went to the Cityplace station. Tatiana told me that they went "Up and Down and Up and Down". This was said with hand-motions and a tone of voice that said she loved it. Then they rode the trolley. She explained to me that they are also called streetcars because they go on the streets with the cars. Scotland said she told me the exact same words he'd told her. Because she was good, she got a bath when they got home. School starts on Monday, so they can have a nice visit next week.
Last night I threw out an envelope. She thought I was throwing out her card, and she got upset. The three of us played many rounds of puppy bingo. She did some coloring on some princess pages. And on the chalkboard. At one point she had a drawing of two people and they were smiling. Then she added the extra line to turn it into a smiling open mouth and she said they were talking. There were always two people in her pictures. Mommy/Tatiana, Daddy/Tatiana, or Daddy/Mommy. In the Daddy/Mommy drawing there were balloons for some reason.
