- She recently started to really draw. It was amazing. She went from being uninterested in drawing shapes to drawing page sized happy faces with feet and hair. She seems to have fun with the hair. We need a scanner to scan in her art so we will remember it always. When she woke up from Friday, she showed me her smiley face drawings and she was particularly proud of the one with "crazy hair". I think we have Sam's to thank. When they check the receipt and a kid is in the cart they draw a smiley face. I used to be annoyed by the delay. Then one day she was upset that they didn't draw it, so I drew one when we got to the car. Scotland said that if they didn't draw it, he asked them to.
- Saturday morning she asked me if I had to go to work that day. When I said No, that it was a day for Tatiana and Mommy, her face let up.
- We went to a playground before nap. The weather was beautiful. It was just us. Then this really unfriendly girl showed up. We were playing Butterflies, which basically involves flapping your wings slowly as you "flutter" around. The girl did not want to play butterflies or play with Tatiana on the playset. Although, we did get them to play chase. I actually saw Tatiana winded. The other girl was with her grandfather, and he was a little embarrassed.
- You would think after that, she would have napped. But, no. During the post-nap room clean, I got the idea to box up the last of her diapers/training pants. She saw the diaper inserts that are basically fabric maxi-pads. She asked so cutely if she could play with them. How could I say No?
- Then we put her toys into the empty space. She wanted to put all her stuffed animals in there too.
- That night when I put her to bed, I went to the kitchen. On the way back, I saw that her light was on. She was getting her stuffed animals.
- That reminds me of the recent change in her nighttime routine. I think it was Thursday night, after books when I turned out the light I noticed that she was very tired. I asked if she'd rather we cuddle in her bed than have cradle time in the chair. Since then, she has wanted to cuddle in the bed. I think she is getting too big for my lap.
- A recent favorite thing is "How many kisses do you want tonight?" We got a cute book with that title from the library. Animal parents ask their babies how many kisses do they want tonight. Then at the end the last page is blank except for "How many kisses do you want tonight?" She has said 100, and I just give bunches, and then start counting in the 90's. Last night she said 5. Then she asked me and told me to say "One loud kiss on my chin" It was adorable.
- Sunday school was great. I was assistant teacher. Tatiana was a little social butterfly. At the end, she was playing with the daughter of the other asst teacher. They decided to hide together in the bathroom. Then were upset when others entered. So they went into a stall. They were taught Duck Duck Goose. Only this version was "Knock" "Knock" "Jesus Loves You". I was adorable to see a kid saying "Jesus loves you" sweetly to another kid. The teacher wanted them to run around the rug we were sitting on. But all the kids ran all over the room. It was a new experience for all the kids.

Last weekend
The highlights from last weekend.

One thing funny. Last night as Tatiana was settling into bed and I was picking out the bedtime books she saw one of her Easter dresses in the "too small" box. She was distressed and asked why it was there. I told her it was because the dress was too small. She thought for a minute and said "I have other dresses."
Scotland went to do more work for Chuck and Marcia but he couldn't take Tatiana so he did it in the evening. So, it was Tatiana and I. She was eating when I got there.

Jan 15th
Yesterday Scotland and Tatiana went swimming. She isn't signed up for a swimming class, and the classes haven't started yet. So, it was just Scotland and Tatiana going swimming.
Then they went to McDonald's. Just as before they were going to leave a really nice girl came in and played with Tatiana. They had a tea party with Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. Everything was imaginary. They played so nicely that Scotland asked about playdates. But the other little girl was with her Grandma and the girl doesn't have a regular schedule. Much to the dismay of the Grandma.
After her nap we played in the living room. Her favorite toy right now is the T-Rex. She has even hugged it as she's gone to sleep. I have no idea why. She also has been playing with the baby doll accessory set, particularly the baby diaper.

Day off and went to the Zoo
I had to take a day off of work because I stopped accumulating vacation time. We picked Tuesday because the weather was supposed to be nice. It was.
We went to the zoo. All three of us. It was lots of fun. We have a family membership and Tatiana and Scotland have gone often. She doesn't spend much time in front of each animal, so I didn't get to read very much. I particularly liked the ant eater. It had a big pretty tail. ABCMouse has an ant eater game where you point out the black ants for it to eat (It doesn't like the red ants) She amazed Scotland by knowing immediately what it was. They'd never seen it before either. She likes to play Hide and Seek in the Lizards/Snakes area. She looks until she finds them and then says "I see you!". At one point I said to Scotland "Haven't we been down this bay already?" But, we hadn't. All the snakes, frogs and lizards started to look alike. She did not like the tigers roaring at each other. There were two in completely different areas and they were roaring back and forth.
We ate lunch sitting by the pink flamingos. That is part of their routine.
They train ride is wonderful. On the way back Scotland and Tatiana sang the farmer song and Tatiana was coming up with some strange things the farm had. Like a House, and paint. But, she nixed my Doggie idea, and Scotland Duck idea.
In the next couple of week, I need to take another day off and we'll probably go back.
