Shopping trip

Tatiana and I went on an impromptu shopping trip yesterday.    My work docking station stopped working so I had to go into work to get it.   Tatiana asked nicely to come along so we could stop someplace and buy her a pot.   She has really been getting into plants.  On the trip we decided that she is so good with plants because both her grandmothers are good with plants.

Scotland recommended we go a store that just sells plants.   She looked on google maps on her tablet and found one in McKinney.  We couldn't find the GPS since we had moved it to the Cruiser when we got Finnick.   We got very very confused in the one-way streets in Mckinney.   We always wanted to go the wrong way and then we had to go out of our way to get back coming from the right direction.  Then a street next to the shop was on the map but not in real life.  I think Mckinney had turned it into a parking lot.   The place turned out to be very overpriced.   Tatiana looked at some prices and didn't ask for anything.  Like they had a plant for almost $100.

Then we went to work, and the Trader Joes.   I was in line paying when she runs up with a plant and she asks for it.   It was attractive.  $10 Monstera plant.   I think I had seen the same plant, same size for $40 at the previous place.  I said Yes.  Of course that meant she'd need another pot.

Then we went to Winco for their cheese bagels.  Tatiana somehow talked me into some of the bulk candy.  She had finished all her schoolwork before noon so I was in a good mood.

Then we went to Walmart.  She got two pots, one of them quite big.

We came home and I was pooped and went straight to bed.   They watched a One Piece episode or few.

AHG day at Bonham State Park

We had a great day yesterday.   AHG and Trail Life families met at the Bonham State Park about an hour away.    Tracy said that since we have so many new families in the group, this is a way to ease them into camping.    The schedule was to arrive at 9 am, then at 10 am there was a Dutch Oven cooking demonstration.   At first, Tatiana was sad because there wasn't any kids close to her age.  We knew Kristen wasn't coming because her mom is working 10 nights in a row.   Tracy didn't think Morgan was coming based on RSVP's.   Then we got to the demonstration and saw Morgan and her mom Shelby.   Much happiness.   Shortly before that Tatiana had hurt her shin.  Much sadness and limping.  That stopped when she started to hang out with Morgan.   After that was an easy hike.  Morgan and Tatiana were far ahead of us.   But they have a policy that an adult is at the front and at the back.   So there was no danger of them getting lost.  Then it was lunch.  There was grills and charcoal needed to be started.   Tatiana had turned up her nose at the idea of sandwiches.   She wanted breakfast burritos and I wanted sausages.  She was hungry and asked if we brought sandwiches.  I said no.  Then she wanted some sausages since those would cook faster.  Those were for me, so I said no.  After lunch we sat around for a bit and then went to rent a paddleboat.  They had ones that held 4 people.   Shelby really preferred to sit and watch in the shade.  So, we got one of those.  The girls wanted to steer which meant they had to paddle.  They paddled all the way across.   About 1/3 of the way across the water called to me.  I slid into the water.  There were hand-holds all the way around.  There were two guys with some dogs on the beach, so of course the girls had to say Hi to them.   Then Scotland paddled back.  I had been mostly swimming alongside unless when the boat went fast.  I remembered when Dad had swum across the lake when my beach ball fell into the water.  Then we all went home and relaxed.  Tatiana's writing assignment is hard right now and she is struggling with it.  She was supposed to be working on it.   Then two hours later she is looking for her book.
