Yesterday, Tatiana went to Adventure Kids for the afternoon. Which means she didn't get a nap. When Scotland got to there to pick her up, she was having her diaper changed. When that was done an older girl was leading her to the front. When she saw her daddy, she started to cry and ran to him practically pulling out the little girls arm. An older girl (I don't know if it was the same one) asked hopefully if Tatiana was coming back tomorrow. I played poker that night so I didn't see her. Scotland said she was very tired. For nighttime books she ask for Ferdinand, Mama Duck, Butterfly but then halfway through Butterflyshe said "Farm". That means she was very very tired. I wanted to run into her room and pick her up and hug her when I heard that.
Monday she had a very busy day. In the morning she had her first swim class in a long time. She also started the RARE class. It was a no-parent preschool class. It is geared toward kids like Tatiana who don't go to preschool or daycare but still want the good parts. The teacher was surprised that she'd never been to a class like that before. She knew almost all of her letters. It was the middle ones she had trouble with. Scotland got a little video of her in class on his phone. I meant to send the camcorder with him, but I'll do that Monday and he can get a video of her through the window.
In the swim class, the teacher said she is ready to do the class where the parent doesn't get in the pool. But there is a minimum age. Scotland said in the past the mommies in the class commented to him "I wanted my husband to come to the swim class but he didn't want to because he thought he'd be the only dad." Then in later classes every kid had daddy come at least once. I think that is good for the other kids, but sad that the daddies would be concerned. Tatiana is so lucky.
We all had a fabulous weekend at mom and dad's. The highlight for me was when Tatiana and her Gram were playing with Tatiana's pom-poms. Gram was doing cheers and throwing the pom-poms in the air. Tatiana was saying "more more". They were also tickling Tatiana's belly with the pom-poms. They were both laughing and giggling, and I don't know who had the most fun. Another highlight was playing bumper inner tubes in the pool. When we'd bump Tatiana would say "Ka Boom". I got cute video of it. I also had Tatiana in my inner tube for a little while so that Gram could see her smiling face. When it came time to pack up, Tatiana got in the pool with her Gram and Grandpa while Scotland and I packed up. That worked out really well because we were able to run around and get lots done. They played "tidal waves" in the pool. Tatiana bounced up and down with her arms on the front of the inner tube and made big waves. When they demonstrated her face was alight.
